THE UNION
SAFETY SYSTEM

The Union Safety System (USS) is an innovative information-gathering and reporting system designed to provide the highest level of health and safety representation to union members.  Through an app on members’ cell phones, the USS gathers information from injured members to record when, where, why, and how a work site accident/injury occurred.  This data is used to identify potential safety risks in the workplace.  The union can use the information to protect its members from future unsafe work environments, equipment, and/or practices through collective bargaining.  The USS is tailored to each union and is password protected. 

In addition to recording accident/injury information, the USS provides access to information about members’ rights and obligations as well as upcoming union events.  It further provides access to experienced attorneys available for free consultation on matters such as Workers’ Compensation, Social Security Disability, or Personal Injury.  The goal is to increase job site safety through reporting and publication while assuring that injured members are expertly represented. 


THE INJURY AND SAFETY SYSTEM

  • The Injury Reporting and Safety System is a plan of action for our members if a work-related accident or injury occurs. The Injury Reporting and Safety System’s database is our first defense in protecting our legal rights.  It also assists fellow members in the future from being exposed to similar unsafe work environments, equipment and practices.

  • By recording relevant job site accident or injury information through our local computer program, we will accurately report accident information and maintain it for use in the future, if necessary.

  • A new, local work-site investigative system will determine what really happened following a job site incident.

  • The program provides our local with a database of information regarding similar worksite incidents and injuries that have affected our members in the past

  • Your right to privacy will be protected and secured by a designated password so that your respective incident and investigative reports or findings remain confidential.
